Gazprom, Rosneft to be allowed to classify part of transactions

Russian energy giant Gazprom PJSC and Rosneft OJSC will be allowed to partially classify information, namely they will be allowed not to publish information on the number of transactions in the unified information system, Russian news agency RBC reports, with reference to the letter from the Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation.
”We are talking about inter-procurement, purchasing real estate, and transactions with foreign banks,” the report says.
According to the newspaper, the original draft of the relevant order had to be developed by the Russian Energy Ministry, but the Ministry of Economy it on its own initiative, and the Ministry of Energy supported the project.
”In response to the initiative of the ministry on the unified information system, state-owned companies have offered to significantly expand the list of information that should not be disclosed. They proposed to add into the list services for asset management, brokerage, mediation, etc. However, the Ministry of Economy is not ready to meet their proposals as it believes that this will reduce competition in the market of banking services,” the article says.
In April 2016, in response to the letter of Rosneft, the government decided that the state-owned company must independently determine the information to be disclosed in the annual report.
