Gazprom charges Ukraine $ 2.44 bln

OAO Gazprom has sent to NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy the letter charging the debt of USD 2.44 billion for Russian gas supplied earlier, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said at the meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, RIA Novosti reported.
Gazprom CEO said that the debt with interest accounted for USD 2.44 billion.
He added that gas discount of a hundred dollars for Russian gas for Ukraine would be terminated on April 1, 2015.
As reported, October 30, 2014, in Brussels, as a follow-up of tripartite talks, Ukraine and Russia, with the participation of the European Union, signed the documents on the terms of future gas supplies.
According to the agreement, Ukraine was to pay Russia USD 3.1 billion in repayment of gas debt. Ukraine repaid the whole sum which until the end of 2014.
Russia, in turn, resumed gas supplies to Ukraine.
