Ukrtransgaz, operator of the Ukraine`s gas transportation system, expects growth of natural gas transit through the country`s territory in 2016 to 80 billion cubic meters (bcm), which is 19% year-on-year Ukrtransgaz spokesperson Maksym Bilyavskiy wrote on Facebook.
”We expect growth in annual [gas] transit volume to Europe to 80 bcm – it is 19% more than last year,” he said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, transit supplies of Russian gas via Ukraine to the EU in 2014 decreased by 29.1% to 59.4 bcm compared with 2013, and increased by 8% in 2015 to 67.1 bcm in comparison with 2014.
Transit shipments of Russian gas via Ukraine to the European Union (EU) in January-October 2016 increased by 20% year-on-year to 65.3 bcm.
