Gas reverse flows to Ukraine halved as Gazprom pressurizing European companies

The flow of reverse gas supplies to Ukraine has halved due to Gazprom’s pressure on the suppliers, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan told reporters on Wednesday.
“Today, there is a reduction of the reverse gas flow. We think this is due to certain operations of Gazprom – have you heard the threats that were addressed to European companies that this reverse is illegal. We have the ability to deliver 18 million cubic meters of reverse gas through Poland and Slovakia. Today only 7 million cubic meters are delivered daily,” he said, noting that this reduction occurred about two weeks ago.
Prodan also intends to hold a meeting in this regard in Brussels with EU Commissioner for Energy Guenther Oettinger.
“We will talk about the current situation in our relations with Russia. I would like to hear information from the European Commissioner for possible tripartite talks,” he said.
