Finland closed the checkpoint on the border with Russia due to sanctions

The timber was mainly transported via the Parikkala checkpoint.

Following EU sanctions banning trucks registered in Russia or Belarus from entering the EU, traffic through the Parikkala checkpoint has come to naught and is now closed.
