European Union will mobilize 900 generators to Ukraine, – EU Commission President

The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen wrote on Twitter on December 21, 2022, that the European Union intended to transfer 900 generators to Ukraine, as well as millions of energy-saving bulbs.

“The EU is working to increase electricity flows between Ukraine and Moldova and the rest of Europe. We are also mobilizing 900 generators to power the country, including its hospitals. And we are sending millions of energy-saving light bulbs. We are with you,” explained Ursula von der Leyen.

Ursula von der Leyen also welcomed the international initiative, according to which on December 21, 2022, as a sign of solidarity with Ukraine, the street lights were turned off for an hour in the capitals and prominent European cities.

“Tonight we answer President Zelenskyy’s call to #LightUpUkraine. We are turning off the lights in the Berlaymont and Representation offices across the EU in solidarity with Ukrainian people experiencing blackouts. The entire Europe continues to stand with Ukraine,” tweeted the European Commission.
