European Parliament agreed on a resolution recognizing Russia as a sponsor of terrorism

The Member of the European Parliament Andrius Kubilius noted on November 17, 2022, on Twitter that the political groups of the European Parliament agreed on the text of the resolution recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, the vote on which is scheduled for the next week.

“After 4 hours of negotiations between the political groups of the EP, the agreement on the text was achieved. The main line is: “European Parliament recognizes Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism and as a state which uses means of terrorism,” wrote Andrius Kubilius.

It is expected that the resolution will be discussed and put to a vote in the European Parliament during the session from November 21 to November 24, 2022.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe unanimously adopted a resolution calling the Russian Federation a terrorist regime on October 13, 2022. PACE became the first international organization to recognize Russia as a terrorist state.
