472 deputies voted “for” this document, 19 voted against it, and 33 European politicians abstained.

“The consequences of Russia’s war on Ukraine are huge. Children, women, men murdered. Families split. Hospitals destroyed. Homes demolished. Schools ruined. Today the European Parliament calls for an urgent special international tribunal. War criminals must be brought to justice. Now,” tweeted Roberta Metsola.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the members of the European Parliament for the adoption of the resolution on the creation of a special tribunal on the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

“I welcome the adoption of the European Parliament’s resolution on the establishment of a Special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine. I call on all our partners to support such a tribunal. Russia must be held accountable for its war of aggression and justice must prevail,” tweeted the Ukrainian President.
