The European side, at a trilateral meeting in Berlin on September 26, will propose a compromise solution that will help restore Russian gas supplies to Ukraine without waiting for a Stockholm arbitration court ruling.
European Commission Vice-President for Energy Guenther Oettinger said this after the 12th meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Energy Community in Kyiv on Tuesday, Ukrinform’s correspondent reported.
He said that the idea was to find an interim solution – sign an interim contract for a certain amount of gas to be supplied by Gazprom Ukraine on the basis of an interim price and then wait for a Stockholm arbitration court ruling.
