“Ukrainian soldiers are showing great courage and tenacity. But they need ammunition. I welcome today’s agreement aiming to deliver 1 million rounds of ammunition over the next 12 months. We will work with Member States to ramp up defence industrial production in European Union to deliver,” tweeted the President of the European Commission.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas reminded that Estonia took the initiative of joint procurement of 1 million ammunition for Ukraine.

“Ukraine needs ammunition and has asked for it. I proposed EU member states jointly procure 1 million shells for Ukraine. Glad that EU foreign and defence ministers approved the initiative today. This helps to ramp up European defence industry and boost our security,” Kaja Kallas noted on Twitter.
