The European Union may increase its financial assistance to Ukraine from 1.8 billion to 2.5 billion Euro next Tuesday.
Reuters reported the news citing its diplomatic sources.
“EU finance ministers will discuss a proposal for an additional financial support to avoid Ukraine’s bankruptcy on Tuesday. They may increase the original proposal up to 2.5 billion Euro ($2.8 billion),” the report says.
The report also states the two diplomats confirmed these negotiations would take place. However, they cautioned the final agreement to increase financial aid has not been reached yet.
As a reminder note, the European Union offered Ukraine a loan of 1.8 billion Euro in January this year.
