Foreign Affairs Council of the EU has called on the Ukrainian authorities to achieve concrete results in the implementation of key reforms that will be crucial for Ukraine’s political association and economic integration with the EU.
This is stated in the conclusions of the European Council adopted in Brussels on Thursday after an emergency meeting on the situation in Ukraine, the 24 news channel reported.
“The Council reiterates its call on the Government of Ukraine to accelerate the implementation of political and economic reforms. It urges Ukraine to deliver concrete results in key reform areas to reply to the population’s aspirations of a democratic and modernized Ukraine, respecting the rights of persons belonging to national minorities,” reads the statement.
The EU expects that these reforms would stabilize the economic, financial and political situation and anchor the support of the international community, including “by developing a climate suitable for investment, notably in view of a possible international conference in support of Ukraine.”
