EU leaders to discuss situation in Ukraine on Thursday

The European Council at the level of heads of state and government of the member states will meet in Brussels on Thursday to discuss the situation in Ukraine and express further support for reforms in the country.
A senior EU official told this to an Ukrinform correspondent.
He said that during a working dinner on Thursday the heads of state and government would discuss the situation in Ukraine, including relations with Russia and the development of the Eastern Partnership initiative. The leaders will also emphasize support for reforms in Ukraine, he said.
He also confirmed that on the eve of the summit on Thursday, the EU Council would make a decision on strengthening sanctions against the economy of the temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol, including bans on investment and trade.
