EU energy ministers to summon in Sofia

The Bulgarian capital, Sofia, will host a meeting of the energy ministers of the European Union, within which the issues of energy security and diversification of energy supply sources will be discussed.
This was announced by vice Prime Minister for economy and European integration of Bulgaria Tomislav Donchev, an Ukrinform correspondent has reported.
“Bulgaria will host the high-level meetings of all the energy ministers of the EU member states. We intend to discuss in detail the issues of implementation of new energy projects and diversification of energy supplies,” Donchev said.
According to him, no less important will be the issue of modernization of the energy markets, the main purpose of which remains the energy independence of the EU countries, including Bulgaria.
Speaking about the shale gas production, vice Prime Minister stressed that there is a moratorium on geologic exploration and production of this fuel in Bulgaria.
