EU diplomats expect visa-free travel for Ukraine, Georgia from Jan 1: Journalist

European diplomats expect that Ukraine and Georgia will introduce the visa-free regime with the European Union (EU) from January 1, 2017, according to Rikard Jozwiak, Brussels reporter for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

”EU diplomats still expect a final decision in EP/Council on visa lib for Georgia and Ukraine in Oct with visa free travel on 1 Jan 2017,” he tweeted on Tuesday, August 23.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on April 20, the European Commission announced that it had put forth a legislative proposal concerning visa liberalization for Ukraine.
