Fighting in Donetsk airport continues. Some of the premises and territories of the airport are still controlled by Ukrainian soldiers, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry press office reports.
“Fierce fighting in Donetsk airport continues. Some of the premises and territories of the airport are controlled by Ukrainian soldiers. Yesterday, 20 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine retreated from the terminal because their positions had been destroyed and came under direct fire,” press office says.
According to the Defense Ministry, as of 9:00 January 22, fighting in the airport continued.
Six Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in a battle for the Donetsk airport.
