Collective Security Treaty Organization to replace military equipment supplied by Ukraine with their own

The countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) intend to manufacture their own military vehicles and equipment that they previously purchased in Ukraine.
CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha announced the news on Friday, BelTA news agency reported.
“The CSTO countries will manufacture military vehicles and equipment by themselves instead of purchasing items from Ukraine as was the case previously,” the statement said.
According to Bordyuzha, the capabilities to manufacture such products exist in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. He also said that changes were made in the provisions of the commission on military and economic cooperation of the CSTO at the December summit of the organization. The provisions include now the vice-premiers in charge of the respective military-industrial complexes. “I think that the scope of this commission’s work will just be focused on solving import substitution issues,” he said.
As a background note, the CSTO comprises six countries such as Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus and Tajikistan.
