Chonhar checkpoint suspends operation – State Border Service

The Chonhar checkpoint on the administrative border of Kherson region and Crimea is temporarily not operating, the president’s office in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has reported, referring to the Azov-Black Sea regional department of the Ukrainian State Border Service.
“The Chonhar checkpoint is temporarily not operating due to the actions of the adjacent side. The Kalanchak and Chaplynka checkpoints are operating in normal mode,” reads the statement.
It also notes that Ukrainian citizens can “freely cross the administrative border between the mainland part of Ukraine and temporarily occupied Crimea at the Kalanchak and Chaplynka checkpoints.”
As reported, Ukraine regained control of the Chonhar peninsula on December 26.
