Canada to allocate $8.5 mln financial aid for Ukraine

Canada plans to allocate $8.5 million of financial assistance for Ukraine, Interior Minister of Ukraine Arsen Avakov wrote on Twitter.

In addition, Avakov said that a meeting with four Canadian ministers and a Conference ”Hybrid war against Ukraine” had been held in Ottawa.

However, Avakov did not specify, for which purpose the funds would be allocated.

”Negotiations with four ministers of Canada, the conference ”Hybrid war against Ukraine,” interview + $8.5 million of assistance. Flying over the ocean. Thanks, Ottawa!” he tweeted.

As reported earlier, Avakov started his Canada visit last week.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Government of Canada reported that in order to maintain the necessary pressure on Russia until it fully complies with its international obligations with respect to Ukraine, the Special Economic Measures (Ukraine) Regulations were amended to list 15 additional separatist individuals, including six members of Russia`s State Duma from Crimea, who are subject to an asset freeze and dealings prohibition.
