Canada allocated $7.6 million for generators to Ukraine

The Minister of International Development of Canada Harjit Sajjan noted on November 25, 2022, that the Canadian government has allocated 10 million Canadian dollars (about 7.6 million US dollars) for the purchase of generators for Ukraine.

“Millions of civilians in Ukraine are without power today. As Putin continues to recklessly target innocent people, our resolve to help Ukraine is only strengthened. We’ve allocated $10M to the International Organization for Migration of Ukraine to procure and distribute generators to critical facilities in Ukraine,” the Minister of International Development of Canada Harjit Sajjan wrote on Twitter.

Canada also announced the allocation of 30 million Canadian dollars (about $23 million) to support the operation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

“Canada allocates 30 million Canadian dollars in humanitarian funding to the UN World Food Program for the further transportation of Ukrainian grain within the framework of the Black Sea Grain Initiative to countries facing significant food insecurity,” the Ministry of International Development of Canada noted.
