Budget Committee calling Hontareva for “tough” talk

The Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee asked representatives of the National Bank to come shortly to a meeting and report on its activities.
Chairman of the parliamentary Budget Committee Andriy Pavelko told reporters, Ukrinform’s correspondent reports.
“All that is happening in the actions of the NBU governor is a great question for all members, including this issue was raised at the Committee, its members need to hear the governor of the National Bank as soon as possible,” he said.
In addition, he said, other members of the National Bank were invited to the Committee meeting, but they failed to come.
However, Pavelko said that even without Hontareva’s report, formation of the state budget for next year will start, but it will be complicated with the fact that the situation on the foreign exchange market will remain unexplained.
“I do not know why, but representatives have not visited our committee yet. We expect them soon. It will be a very tough talk,” the MP said.
