Bomb blows up on bus in Armenia

The cause of the explosion on a bus in the Armenian capital Yerevan late Monday, which killed two people, was a bomb, according to the head of Armenian Police Vladimir Gasparyan, BBC Russian Service reported.
He added that the bomb exploded near the second seat on the right side of the bus, and it was not a  fragmentation blast. No other details were revealed.
In turn, the advisor to the Chief of Armenian Police Narek Malyan added that there was no fire following the blast.
”The bus did not burn, there was a” dry” explosion. The bus exploded while driving,” Malyan wrote on Facebook.
The police are studying CCTV footage. At the moment, it is unclear whether the bomb was planted in the bus or one of the passengers was carrying it, according to the law enforcers.
At the same time, the Prosecutor`s Office of Armenia reported that the criminal probe is launched for violation of safety requirements in providing services, to be investigated by an investigator for particularly important cases.
So far no one has claimed responsibility for the incident. The police said that the final version of the incident will be presented after investigators and criminologists complete crime scene investigation and carry out the necessary tests.
