Berlin welcomes gas agreement between Kyiv and Moscow

The German government welcomed the agreement in principle between Ukraine and Russia over gas supplies in winter.
This Monday said Deputy Spokesman of the German government Georg Streiter told a press conference in Berlin, a Ukrinform correspondent in Germany reports.
“The federal government considers the agreement (gas – Ed.) between Ukraine and Russia as a clear signal of de-escalation and a step to stabilization,” he said.
As reported, October 18, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the agreement was reached in Milan with representatives of Russia on gas supplies to Ukraine in winter at a price of USD 385 per thousand cu m. At the same time, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk on Sunday said that it is too early to talk about reaching agreements with Russia on gas supplies until the contract has not been formally signed.
Recall, Tuesday, October 21, Brussels will host the next round of gas talks between Kyiv and Moscow with mediation of the European Commission.
