The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has put a halt to a cyberattack on its resources and is now recovering the operative system to avoid possible delays in payments, according to the ministry`s page on Facebook.
The Finance Ministry said that since early Tuesday, December 6, its website was non-operational, as well as the website of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine.
”We`ve managed to stop the attack. We are conducting operative system recovery in order to avoid possible delays in payments. The relevant authorities are searching for the intruders. It was the coordinated professional hacker attack on the departments of the Ministry of Finance. This is an obvious attempt to disrupt the budget process, which is on schedule for the first time in more than 17 years, to prevent the introduction of important initiatives of the Ministry of Finance and destabilize the situation,” the report says.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on December 6, hackers apparently interfered with the website of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine. Also, the website of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine was not downloading its homepage.
