Russian drone attacks Ukraine rear military unit, drops six bombs

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 18 times in the past 24 hours, and another six times after midnight, including with the use of a drone, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) headquarters.

An enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacked a Ukrainian military unit in the rear at night by dropping six bombs, however, there were no casualties among military personnel, no military equipment was damaged, the ATO HQ wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, May 17.

”The situation remains difficult in the vicinity of the militant-held city of Donetsk. The occupiers fired rocket-propelled grenades and small arms on the defenders of the town of Avdiyivka at night, as well as small arms on our fortified positions near the town of Maryinka,” the press center said.

In the Mariupol sector, the Russian-backed mercenaries repeatedly fired 120mm mortars on ATO forces near the village of Novotroyitske. They also fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades on the Ukrainian troops in the village of Shyrokyne.

In Luhansk region, Russian proxies fired small arms and heavy machine guns on the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Novozvanivka and Triokhizbenka.

  1. It is getting time for armed drones for Ukraine: Bomb drones and sniper drones. Technology for that is available and relatively easy to make locally.
