ATO forces repel enemy attack near Novotroyitske

The combined Russian-separatist forces attacked Ukrainian army positions in eastern Ukraine 33 times in the past 24 hours, mostly after dark, according to the press center of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
The militants continue to intensively attack the positions of the Ukrainian soldiers in the Avdiyivka industrial zone. ”At night, they opened fire from grenade launchers, anti-aircraft guns and 82mm mortars several times. They continuously fire small arms in the area,” the report says.
At the Horlivka-Svitlodarsk bridgehead, the enemy used small arms and rocket-propelled grenades against the Ukrainian fortified positions near the villages of Zaitseve and Luhanske.
The occupiers also fired anti-tank guided systems twice on ATO fortified positions near the village of Sokilnyky in Luhansk region. In the same direction, the militants fired rocket-propelled grenades on the defenders of the village of Stanytsia Luhanska.
”The situation was also tense in the Mariupol sector. The invaders fired rocket-propelled grenades on our positions near the villages of Shyrokyne, Hranitne and Hnutove. Last night, the militants tried to penetrate our defenses near the village of Novotroyitske. The enemy proceeded to assault actions with the support of infantry fighting vehicles, snipers, and fire from rocket-propelled grenades. The Ukrainian soldiers opened fire and destroyed the enemy infantry combat vehicle, and the attackers had to retreat,” the press center said.
”After midnight, the illegal armed groups have already used weapons four times. In particular, they fired small arms and rocket-propelled grenades near Shyrokyne, Avdiyivka and Zaitseve,” the headquarters said.
