The assets of banks operating in Ukraine, excluding the insolvent financial institutions, in September 2016, decreased by UAH 6.592 billion, or 0.5%, to UAH 1.276 trillion as of October 1.
According to the National Bank of Ukraine, since the beginning of the year the assets of banks operating in Ukraine have increased by UAH 21.558 billion, or 1.7%.
It is also reported that in September, the number of banks operating in Ukraine, licensed to conduct banking activities, has not changed and includes 100 financial institutions.
UNIAN memo. At the beginning of 2016, the assets of banks operating in Ukraine amounted to UAH 1.254 trillion, while there were 117 operating banks.
