Almost 82% of Ukrainians do not intend to participate in the Russian referendum

On August 15, it became known that 81.8% of residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine declare that they will not go to the referendum if the occupying Russian authorities hold it, according to a study by the company “Actyv Group”.

According to the results of the study, released at a press conference in Kyiv, on the question “If the Russian Federation holds a referendum in your city, will you go to it (for residents of the part of Ukraine controlled by the Russian Federation)?”, 81.8% of respondents answered that they would not go. 9% said they would go, and the remaining 9.2% of respondents were undecided.

Respondents were also asked to assess the validity of the territorial claims of the Russian Federation in their region: 72.7% answered that the claims are completely unfounded, 2% said that the claims are rather unfounded, 9.9% consider Russia’s claims to be well-founded, and 15.4% could not decide the answer to the question.

The research was conducted by the “Actyv Group” company on August 4-8, 2022, using all possible means of communication while respecting the safety of respondents in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine (Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions). A total of 600 respondents were interviewed.
