The most active fighting is currently taking place in the Donetsk direction.

“On these 1.300 km, we have a defensive operation, which consists of a certain set of actions, and there can be both offensive and defensive actions. The most active actions are being carried out in the Donetsk direction. Putin recently said that he is putting such the task – to completely capture the Donetsk region by a certain deadline. They [the opponents – ed.] did not meet these deadlines, they were going to do it by September 1, but they are not abandoning this goal.”

At the same time, according to the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Ukrainian troops are making progress in the Donetsk direction – they are advancing and de-occupying populated areas. But along with this, heavy and fierce battles continue, during which units of the Defense Forces restrain the enemy.
