Abromavicius to tell in January what will happen to industrial enterprises

The Cabinet of Ministers will present the concept of Ukraine’s industrial sector reform in early January.
Minister of Economic Development and Trade Aivaras Abromavicius said this at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Today I met with other ministers, who are responsible for the key industries, to discuss reform of state-owned enterprises. In early January there will be a presentation, a vision of how we will improve the corporate governance of the state-owned companies, which will be followed by privatization,” he said.
Abromavicius recalled that the government had halved the number of strategic facilities that are not subject to privatization.
“Unfortunately, we have more than 3,000 enterprises, and only 1,900 of them are operating. So we need to close those that are not operating, and of course, to put a lot of clarity and transparency in those that are operating,” the minister said.
