According to Ruslan Strilets, Ukraine is losing its water infrastructure as a result of constant Russian missile attacks.

“5 million Ukrainians do not have access to drinking water because of Russia. 70% of the population of our country may not have water because of Russia. As a result of the release of water from the Kakhovka Reservoir, there is a threat of failure of the cooling systems of Zaporizhzhia NPP (the largest in Europe). This would mean a possible Fukushima scenario in the middle of the European continent because of Russian actions,” explained the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

Ruslan Strilets added that Ukraine joined the global initiative and faithfully implemented sustainable water management, as well as worked on creating river basin management plans.

“The Water Strategy of Ukraine until 2050 was adopted. We established cross-border relations with neighboring countries in the field of water resources management,” said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
