7 places of mass burials have already been found in liberated Izyum

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights noted on September 21, 2022, that there was a total system of intimidation and terror of the local population during the temporary occupation in the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region. It is possible that the found burial sites may not be the last creepy finds on the territory of the city.

“I am sure that these are not all graves. As far as I know, we are currently approaching the figure of 200 exhumed bodies, they are only in one cemetery, the previous figure was about 450 bodies. There are seven mass graves in Izyum in total.”

Residents said that Russians gave the bodies of tortured and dead people to their relatives with the demand that they should be buried in different places.

“When I was in Izyum, I spoke with residents who were in the city during the occupation. They said that a lot of people who died from Russian aerial bombs, from shelling, were tortured in torture camps. There are seven such places in Izyum. We started work only in one cemetery. Therefore, I am sure that there will be new discoveries and they will be no less tragic and terrible.”

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights noted that the recording of all crimes is ongoing in order to punish the Russian serviceman.
