24 countries support Ukraine’s genocide case at the Hague Court

An Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Anton Korynevych noted on November 22, 2022, that the International Court of Justice of the United Nations had already received 24 statements from states that support Ukraine’s position in the case against Russia regarding the violation of the Convention on the Prevention of Genocide.

“Now there are already 24 states’ statements that they support the position of Ukraine. The case concerns the fact that the Russian Federation is deliberately manipulating and speculating that Ukraine allegedly committed some mythical “genocide” over the course of 8 years, in particular on the territory of Donbas [eastern Ukraine – ed.]. We prove in the case that these are manipulations and speculations, that in this way Russia violates the very sanctity of the Convention on Genocide because genocide is the most serious of international crimes,” explained the Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Anton Korynevych also noted that Ukraine submitted a memorandum on the case of genocide on July 1, 2022.

The UN International Court of Justice ordered the Russian Federation to immediately stop its invasion of Ukraine on March 16, 2022.
