Combat actions damaged 237 educational institutions of Donetsk region. It was managed to renew less than one quarter.
The press service of the Donetsk Regional State Administration informs.
“Over a period of holding the antiterrorist operation in Donetsk region, 237 educational institutions were damaged, out of these, 50 were rebuilt in Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Dzerzhynsk, Krasny Lyman, Sloviansk district. Repairs were not held at 187 establishments,” a statement reads.
Since September 1, the educational process started only at 50% of general educational schools of the region. A contingent of pupils, who started their studies, made up 152,000 children. Out of these, 12,500 students were accepted for studies out of temporarily displaced persons. In addition, about 40,000 pupils of this category continued studies at other regions of Ukraine.
At the end of the last academic year, more than 1,000 general educational schools functioned in the region.
