Mobilization in Ukraine goes according to the plan. This year already 2.5 thousand volunteers have expressed a desire to go to the ATO area, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has said laying flowers to the memorial cross to the Heroes of Kruty, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The citizens demonstrate a high level of patriotism and consciousness. Mobilization occurs as planned and without violations of schedule,” he said.
According to Poroshenko, 73 thousand draft notices have been given since January 20. However, more than 2.5 thousand Ukrainian patriots have already signed up as volunteers just in a week.
In particular, 45 thousand conscripts had undergone medical examination and went to the training centers yesterday.
The ceremony of laying flowers was attended by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk, Parliament’s speaker Volodymyr Hroisman, vice Prime Minister Hennadiy Zubkov, former president Leonid Kravchuk and others.
