Ukraine’s Defense Minister confirmed that British Challenger 2 tanks are already in Ukraine

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov noted on March 28, 2023, on Twitter that Challenger 2 tanks from Great Britain have already arrived in Ukraine.

“It was a pleasure to take the first Ukrainian Challenger 2 MBT for a spin. Such tanks, supplied by the United Kingdom, have recently arrived in our country. These fantastic machines will soon begin their combat missions,” tweeted the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

Oleksii Reznikov also thanked British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Defense Secretary Ben Wallace and all citizens of the United Kingdom for their help.

On March 27, 2023, it became known that servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine completed training on Challenger 2 in Britain. It is expected that these tanks will be used in the upcoming spring counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In addition to 14 tanks, London should send 20 Bulldog armored personnel carriers and 30 AS-90 self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine.
