Operational information on June 16, 2022 regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine

The resistance of the Ukrainians against a Russian military invasion goes on for the one hundred thirteenth (113th) day.

Certain units of the Armed Forces of Belarus continue to provide a threat in the Volyn-Polissia directions near the Belarusian border with Ukraine. The construction of engineering equipment for positions in the Brest region border areas is ongoing. A command and staff exercise with military units of logistics of the Armed Forces of Belarus was held during the 14-16 June period.

The enemy fired artillery in the Siverskyi direction at the settlements Leonivka, Chernihiv, Sopych, and Baranivka, all in the Sumy region. A couple of Ka-52 helicopters struck it near Hlukhiv, Sumy oblast.

The Russian army is trying to stop units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces from advancing further towards the State Border in the Slobozhanskyi direction. Artillery shelling was also recorded in the Sloviansk area near Mazanivka and Krasnopillia. An enemy attack was repelled by Ukrainian soldiers in the direction to Dolyna village. The enemy fled.

The enemy continues firing on Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk area. They concentrate their efforts on Bakhmut and Siverskodonetsk. The Starodubivka area was hit by artillery fire from the Russian occupiers.

Russian troops used rocket-propelled bombers and artillery in the Siverskodonetsk direction. They also used rocket-propelled launchers in areas around the settlements of Lysychansk and Metolkine. Loskutivka was attacked by an Russian air strike. Two Russian Ka-52 helicopters attacked Yakovlivka, a peaceful civil settlement. Our troops were able to repel the attack in Berestove direction. Russian soldiers used mortars, artillery, and multiple rocket launchers to attack the area of Mariyinka and Novomyhaylivka as well as Hulyaipole, Charivne, Zaliznychne.

The South Buh situation has not significantly changed. The enemy is still focusing on maintaining the occupied frontiers, and improving the engineering equipment of the positions.

Three high-precision weapons carriers are kept by the enemy and can be used with a total of 20 Caliber cruise missiles. This is a major setback for plans of the Russian military leadership to quickly enter Ukraine. There are more cases of Russian people being fired for refusing participation in hostilities against Ukraine. This doesn’t allow for the strengthening and replacement of Russian units which have lost their combat capabilities in a short period.
