Lenin’s monument was pulled down in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Region

Lenin’s monument was toppled from the central square of the city Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, in Eastern Ukraine. The monument was removed during the rally ‘Kramatorsk is Ukraine’ where gathered thousands of activists on Thursday, April 16, 2015.

This city is famous because of Battle of Kramatorsk (from 12 April until 5 July 2014), the standoff between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and pro-Russian terrorists from so-called illegal Donetsk People’s Republic. As the result the Russian-backed terrorists withdrew and Kramatorsk came under Ukrainian control.

Actually after the monument to Lenin was pulled down on April 17, 2015, in the village of Stanytsa Luhanska, in the Luhansk region, this village officially recognized Russian Federation as the country aggressor and the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic (“LNR”) as the terrorist organization.

Recently monuments of Soviet leaders were pulled down in Kharkiv.
