Saakashvili threatens to start ‘public impeachment’ on December 3
Former Georgian president and leader of the Movement of New Forces party Mikheil Saakashvili suggested that the people should begin “public impeachment” if the MPs of the Verkhovna Rada do not vote in favor of the creation of an anti-corruption court and the removal of parliamentary immunity.
He made a statement to this effect at Constitution Square in Kyiv, Ukrainski Novyny reports.
“If they do not vote, I suggest that we begin public impeachment on December 3,” Saakashvili said.
He believes that on December 3, the Verkhovna Rada should consider bills to remove parliamentary immunity and create an anti-corruption court.
