This is Ukraine today – September 7

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

War, not the expected peace arrived at the doorstep of Great Britain and France when they gave up Czechoslovakia to Hitler in 1938. War is happening right here at home and not in faraway Europe – the United States were harshly reminded about this at Pearl Harbor in 1942. War descended on Ukraine and thus is now much closer to Paris and Berlin, because Europe and the US haven’t supported Georgia in 2008. War showed up in the homes of Dutch, British, French, German, Australian families because Europe and the US weren’t courageous enough to lend a helping hand to Ukraine in 2014. It is impossible to run away from war and overwhelming aggression, it is impossible to buy yourself off. The war will catch up with you if you don’t stand up to it with utmost determination.

September 7 – 15 more Ukrainian war prisoners were freed in Donetsk today. 700-800 persons remain in captivity of “Luhansk People’s Republic” and “Donetsk People’s Republic”.

September 7 – Another 32 Ukrainian soldiers were able to escape the entrapment at Illovaisk.

September 7 – The representatives of “Luhansk People’s Republic” and “Donetsk People’s Republic” would like to introduce changes to “Minsk Agreement”: they would like to separate from Ukraine again.

September 7 – Despite the ceasefire, the militants continue to shoot at the positions of Ukrainian troops and civil sites, said the Head of the Centre for Military and Political Studies Dmytro Tymchuk.

September 7 – If the “truce” in southeastern Ukraine ends in the same way as all previous ones, we will have no other option but to impose martial law, said Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. “Do I have trust in the Russian Federation and its President? Absolutely not. Has President Putin changed his plans? No way. His plan is to pull Ukraine under the influence of Russia in any shape or form – to seize it with military actions, to exterminate it politically or destroy the state as a whole”.

September 7 – Russian troops and terrorists continue to shell the suburbs of Mariupol with mine throwers, informs “Azov” battalion. This is a Russian-style “truce”.
