This is Ukraine today – October 10

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

War, not the expected peace arrived at the doorstep of Great Britain and France when they gave up Czechoslovakia to Hitler in 1938. War is happening right here at home and not in faraway Europe – the United States were harshly reminded about this at Pearl Harbor in 1942. War descended on Ukraine and thus is now much closer to Paris and Berlin, because Europe and the US haven’t supported Georgia in 2008. War showed up in the homes of Dutch, British, French, German, Australian families because Europe and the US weren’t courageous enough to lend a helping hand to Ukraine in 2014. It is impossible to run away from war and overwhelming aggression, it is impossible to buy yourself off. The war will catch up with you if you don’t stand up to it with utmost determination.

October 10 – President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has said that Moldova needs to temporarily suspend the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU – he is using the same “script” that had worked in Ukraine. Russia doesn’t want to let Moldova join the EU.

For the Russian budget has been created based on oil price, which is not lower than 90 USD per barrel. Lifting of the embargo on Iran oil exports has dramatically reduced the price of oil worldwide. The next round of trilateral gas negotiations EU-Ukraine-Russia regarding the gas price will take place in Berlin on October 21st. The issues of transit security for Russian gas in Ukraine through to the EU will be discussed at the meeting.

October 10 – In Minsk, the leaders of states, which are part of Eurasian Economic Community, have decided to liquidate the organization. The Community unites five countries: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Another Russian geopolitical project has ceased to exist.

The provocations are thought to be planned for Pokrov religions holiday (October 14th).
