Debaltseve has been also been completely destroyed, you cannot even call it a city anymore. It has been estimated that since the ceasefire announcement and to the point of Ukrainian garrison leaving the city of Debaltsevo, a daily average of 580 kilograms of deadly metal in the form of artillery shells, mines, anti-tank guided missiles and other weapons, was used for every Ukrainian soldier”.

February 19 – Ukraine’s Prosecutor General has issued a statement saying that there are reasons to believe that the representatives of Russian special agencies were involved in the mass shooting at Maidan (Independence Square) on February 18-19th, 2014.

February 19 – Russian army and pro-Russian collaborators have not yet allowed OSCE mission representatives to visit Debaltseve, which they have invaded yesterday.

February 19 – More than 90 Ukrainian military were captured during the battle for Debaltseve, 82 are missing, – informed the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the General Staff has emphasized that when leaving Debaltseve, Ukrainian military have detained several dozen militants who are currently giving evidence regarding their illegal activities within the terrorist groups.

February 19 – Putin: Crimean peninsula has become an “impregnable fortress”, large military garrison and modern weapons are now located there. In December 2014, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu has announced the creation of self-sufficient Military Force in the Crimea. According to Shoygu, in addition to existing military capacities seven major formations and eight units were formed at the peninsula.

February 19 – Russia cannot and does not have the right to participate in the peace-keeping contingent in Donbas. This was stated by President Petro Poroshenko at a press conference on Thursday, in discussing the initiative to include the peace-keeping contingent of the United Nations in Donbas. “I would like to clearly emphasize that Russia as the aggressor country cannot and will not take part in this peace-keeping operation,” he underlined. “We will not agree to such a format of a peace-keeping mission, which should be legalized by the many thousands of the Russian contingent. And we have enough of these “peace-keepers”, he noted. Poroshenko also said that for Ukraine the desired format of the peace-keeping mission is the policing mission of EU. “I will inform the European Commissioner of the decision, ratified by RNBO yesterday, about the invitation into Ukraine of peace-keeping units – its wish is that they should be in the format of a police mission of EU which should act according to the decisions of the Security Council of United Nations, he said.
