This is Ukraine today – December 7: Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to annex Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine

Maidan Community Sector, Lviv: Dear friends!

December 6 – In Vinnytsia, people participating in a rally (200 people) voted for the resignation of the Head of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Anatoliy Oliynyk as well as for a new “people’s governor” Oleksiy Furman who is also the Head of Vinnytsia branch of all-Ukrainian union “Svoboda”. Those present voted by show of hands. Additionally, in its Twitter account “Svoboda” wrote about the “election” of Mr.Furman as a candidate for the post of the Head of the Administration. Russian provocateurs started a revolt in Donbas in a very similar manner – is “Svoboda” using their “best practices”?

December 6 – 526 thousand people have been relocated from temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, Crimea and ATO area, – said NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko.

December 6 – Increased number of shelling attacks by terrorists on positions of Ukrainian troops was recorded in the last 24 hours – 2 Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 8 injured, – said NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko.

December 6 – OSCE has recorded 4 Russian “military convoys” (19 vehicles) travelling towards Donetsk.

December 6 – Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to annex Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine. According to Der Spiegel, which is citing informed sources, this claim is supported by special services of a few NATO member states. According to these special services, Putin certainly will not accept the defeat of pro-Russian separatists. However, instead of annexing Donbas, he will rely on the transformation of breakaway regions into functioning administrative units within federal Ukraine. Putin’s goal is to control Ukraine and not allow it to drift towards the EU and NATO. For Putin such problem areas within Ukraine will become a tool for manipulation. Nothing is spoken about Crimea – for Putin (and maybe also for someone within EU) annexation of Crimea is an accomplished fact.

P.S.: Please spread this appeal as much as possible.
