Kyrgyzstan needs a comprehensive rural development strategy


BISHKEK (TCA) — Kyrgyzstan declares itself as an agrarian country, and according to the country’s leadership, agriculture is a strategic sector of the Kyrgyz economy. However, since independence the country has been at risk of food insecurity. Of the nine basic foods, only vegetables and milk are produced in volumes enough to meet the national demand.
