A new map illustrates where Russian planes are probing the air defenses of a number of countries in what some experts are describing as cold war tactics.
The activity of Russian jets and other aircraft have been drawing attention recently.
In one instance, 19 Russian jets were spotted in three separate places outside the country. The flurry prompted a statement from NATO, which tracked several of the planes when they flew above the Norwegian coastline.
“These sizable Russian flights represent an unusual level of air activity over European airspace,” NATO said in a statement.
