RIO 2016: Shericka Jackson mints bronze for Jamaica on women’s 400M finals


Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson has won bronze in the finals of the women’s 400M behind gold medal winner Shaunae Miller of the Bahamas and Allyson Felix of the United States. The young Jamaican finished fiercely in a time of 49.85 – just two seconds outside of her lifetime best time of 49.83 ran in the semi-finals of the 400M on Sunday, August 14.
Winning in a personal best time of 49.44 seconds, Miller, 22, solidified her place in Bahamian history with the country’s first-ever gold medal in the event – beating year-round rival 30-year-old Felix, who ran 49.73.
