Yatseniuk: Ukraine to lose $7 bln after suspension of cooperation with Russia

Ukraine’s annual losses from termination of economic cooperation with Russia will not exceed $7 billion, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Friday in Kyiv.
“Under the most negative scenario, the losses from sanctions and aggressive policy of the Kremlin during the first year of termination of cooperation – 7 billion dollars,” the prime minister said.
Yatseniuk noted that to minimize the losses the country needs to enter Western markets. “If we are together, if we are united with our European and American partners we will get new markets, diversify supplies and put an end to our dependence on Russia, including energy,” the head of government emphasized.
“It’s not easy, it’s not fast, but we have no other choice,” Yatseniuk said.
