Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk will lead the Ukrainian delegation at an inaugural meeting of the Association Council between Ukraine and the European Union to be held in Brussels on December 15.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“On December 15, Brussels will host an inaugural meeting of the Association Council between Ukraine and the European Union with the participation of a Ukrainian government delegation led by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk,” he said.
He said that the Association Council was one of the principal bodies of a new institutional structure that will be formed to maintain relations between Ukraine and the EU as part of political association.
Perebyinis noted that the Association Council was empowered to approve binding decisions in implementing and monitoring the application of the Association Agreement.
