Yatseniuk: There will not be warm, but we will not freeze

Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk promises that Ukrainians will not freeze in winter.
He said during the discussion of the heating season at a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We can go through the heating season, at least, there will not be warm, but we will not freeze,” – Yatseniuk said, summarizing a speech by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Yuriy Prodan.
He noted that the ability to negotiate with Russia on gas supplies causes “deep concerns.”
Yatseniuk said that Ukraine went to the Stockholm arbitration, and stressed that the claim is not withdrawn.
In turn, Yuriy Prodan said that Ukraine now need to buy about 4.5-5 billion cubic meters of gas to pass the winter. In this context, he said that currently is 16.5 billion cubic meters of gas in the gas storage and 10 billion of own gas is planned to produce from October to March.
Provided that Ukraine is not able to buy 5 billion cubic meters of gas, it will have a 30% reduction in gas for district heat, 30% – for industry and 10% – for housing departments.
