Yatseniuk: Peace should be established on basis of Poroshenko’s plan

Peace between Ukraine and Russia should be established on the basis of a plan offered by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, not his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said this while opening a government meeting on Friday, a Ukrinform correspondent reported.
“Peace should be established on the basis of a plan offered by the Ukrainian, rather than Russian president, and it should be supported by the United States and the EU as our true allies. We need guarantees,” he said.
He said that such guarantees could be obtained if Ukraine acts in a coordinated manner – “the way we have always acted with our Western partners.”
Yatseniuk also noted that Ukraine cannot resist Russian aggression alone: “We won’t cope with Russia alone, because they will deceive us.”
He said that three basic points should first be realized, in particular, a ceasefire, the withdrawal of the Russian army and terrorists from Ukraine’s eastern regions, and the restoration of the border.
